KD-HM-BL-013
Letters to Your Builder
Four fillable letters for a homeowner, each with a guide page: a defects notice asking the builder to put the work right within a stated time (repeat performance, and repair or replacement for goods), a delay letter asking for completion by a reasonable date (with a clear warning that ending the contract yourself is risky), a cancellation notice usable only when every eligibility box is ticked (off-premises, not new build, not urgent repairs, over £42, in time, nothing delivered or fitted), and a letter asking the builder to confirm a start date or agree to return a deposit. Each letter points to the letter before claim, KD-HM-LC-012.
8 pages · 113 fillable fields · works in Adobe Reader, Preview, Chrome, or on a phone — or complete it online in your browser and download the finished document.

What it is not
It is not legal advice, it is not insurance, and it cannot make a builder or a neighbour do anything. It explains what the law in England and Wales says and gives you a clear record. For free advice on your own situation, ring the Citizens Advice consumer helpline on 0808 223 1133.
