Questions, answered straight

What exactly do I get?

Fillable PDF documents — activity RAMS, permits, certificates, registers and system documents, plus the "How to use these documents" guide (and the user manual with the Permit to Work Suite). Every field has a tooltip, tab order follows the reading order, and the forms work in Adobe Reader, Apple Preview, Chrome, and on a phone. Files are yours to download and keep.

Are they compliant?

No template can be — and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you something they don't understand. Compliance is created by a competent person adapting the document to your site and completing it properly. What you get here is a starting point built to the standard a principal contractor actually accepts, with the law behind every section cited so you can check it. The full explanation is at why we don't say "compliant".

When can I buy them?

Now. Every document in the library is on sale — singly, in packs or in bundles — across every document set: RAMS, permits to work, quality inspection checklists, site inspection records, COSHH assessments, fire safety, asbestos management, CDM 2015 and the rest. The revisions page shows the current revision of every document and who approved it.

Who has checked them?

The author — a director of a UK principal contractor with forty years in the industry and SMSTS — has approved every document for issue. They have not been independently reviewed by a third party, and the revision history printed on each document says so. A template cannot be compliant in any case: it becomes a usable document only when a competent person in your business adapts it to the site and signs it off.

Who writes them?

A director of a UK principal contractor — forty years in the industry, SMSTS, working on commercial fit-out and refurbishment. They are original documents, written for KubitDocs rather than lifted from any one company's paperwork, and written from the side of the desk that reviews subcontractor submissions. More on the about page.

Do I get updates when the law changes?

Yes, free. When we revise a document, your download serves the current version and we email you that it changed, what changed, and why. Buy once — the revision cycle is included, not a subscription.

Can I edit and adapt them?

Yes — that is the point. You must adapt them to your site before use. The licence lets you use, edit and reproduce the documents within your own business, including on projects for your clients.

Can I share or resell them?

No. One purchase covers one business. You may not resell, redistribute or share the files, edited or unedited, paid or free. Full detail on the licence page.

Which parts of the UK do they cover?

Great Britain. The health and safety law the documents cite — the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the regulations made under it, including CDM 2015 — applies across England, Scotland and Wales. Where a document cites environmental, waste or building law, it names the law for England (and Wales where it says so): Scotland and Wales have their own versions of some of it, so check the equivalent for a site there. Northern Ireland has its own health and safety legislation, and the documents do not cover it.

What about refunds?

Digital downloads carry a 14-day cancellation right which you will be asked to waive at checkout in exchange for immediate download — that is the standard regime for digital goods, stated plainly before you pay. Your statutory rights if a file is faulty or not as described are unaffected and cannot be excluded. The terms of sale set this out in full.

Do you do custom or trade-specific documents?

Trade-specific, yes — 164 activity RAMS across 32 trades, each written for one activity. Custom documents for a particular job, no. If a document you need is missing, tell us; it decides what we write next.
