Small Works Contract — Business Client
A plain-English small works contract between a contractor and a business client: which contract to use, the works and contract documents, CIS and VAT treatment, the price and daywork rates, dates and late-finish damages, interim or stage payments with due dates, final dates, payment notices and pay less notices that follow the Construction Act, no pay-when-paid, suspension on the notified sum, retention with long-stop dates, adjudication at any time through a named nominating body, insurance, CDM 2015 and Building Regulations dutyholders, a defects period, a liability cap with the reasonableness test, no third party rights, ending the contract (including what insolvency law allows against a company client), and the law of England and Wales.
