Building Contract — Domestic Customer
A plain-English building contract between a builder and a customer who is a consumer — an individual having work done for themselves: the parties and whether the customer lives at the property, the work and the quotation it is priced on, the price and what it includes, dates, a deposit and stage payments tied to work done, who arranges building control, planning and party wall notices, the domestic client position under CDM 2015 and the Building Regulations, insurance of the work, defects and handover documents, disputes and ending the contract — with the consumer's cancellation rights for work only and for work with goods supplied, the signed request to start early, and the statutory model cancellation instructions and form.
